NHL Rushmore

An interesting column by John Buccigross on espn.com (the kings of cross-promotion) naming the four faces on the Mount Rushmore of each NHL franchise.
Of course, this coincides with ESPN’s Mount Rushmore of Sports, which puts four faces on the side of the mountain from each state and allows viewers to vote for the greatest state Rushmore.
As for the NHL version, I’m pretty much on board with the picks for the Capitals. I had Alex Ovechkin, Olaf Kolzig, Dale Hunter and Rod Langway.
Buccigross had Peter Bondra in place of Langway, and certainly there would have to be an argument for Mike Gartner to be included, too.
Oh, and I was dead on predicting ESPN’s list for Maryland: Cal Ripken, Johnny Unitas, Brooks Robinson and Michael Phelps. How can you argue with any of those four guys??
